Warren Street, Charleston
Renovation and addition
After moving to Charleston, this family bought a dilapidated house with a lot of history. The house was comprised of at least three phases of construction. The first two were full of potential and valued by the city's preservation community. After much thought, the front house was opened up as much as possible creating a light and airy main living space, while the historic addition was used as the kitchen house. The kitchen opens to a side porch and provides the connection to a new addition—a family room filled with windows and nestled in the back yard.
