Renovation and addition
A true collaboration with local designer and builder, Michael Brewer, this new home is located in the historic district of Sullivans Island. While including the open plan desired by so many, the house is a composition of simple forms derived from the beach-cottage vernacular of the island. The front building is a raised simple cottage with a wrap-around porch that camouflages the larger living spaces behind. These living spaces, including a screen porch, open to a courtyard space on the side of the house, which is completed by the study—a special single-story vaulted room.
